Immigration and Settlement Support |

- The In-School Settlement Support Program assists newcomer students and families with their settlement needs (ie. Housing, employment, educational training, English language classes, and other issues related to settlement in a new country).
- Program connects newly arrived families to services and resources in the school and the community in order to ease integration into Canadian society and foster student achievement.
- Services are provided by a Settlement Practitioner from Edmonton Immigrant Services Association based in our school.
- A systematic outreach to all newcomers.
- Needs assessment to determine initial and ongoing needs.
- Referral to available community services and resources based on assessed settlement needs.
- Information and orientation on settlement-related issues and Alberta school system
- Solution focused counseling.
