Instructional Focus Print E-mail

Grace Martin uses a school-wide coordinated effort to have all of our students show growth in their reading comprehension through language acquisition.

Growth will be measured by HLAT's, provincial achievement tests and school-based performance assessments.

How do we do this?

  • All staff and students use selected, effective school-wide strategies that support our instructional focus in the classroom on a daily basis
  • Staff work collaboratively, discussing ways to improve teaching and learning in the area of our instructional focus.
  • Staff professional development builds expertise in our selected best practices.
Resources are aligned to support our instructional focus.
  • Data is used to provide continuous adjustment in teaching.
  • We focus on communication with parents and community on ideas that will help all students to show growth in our area of instructional focus.
